Sardine Butter
Are we the only ones who are glad when something’s fishy? This make-ahead sardine butter is great on freshly toasted bread. Perk up your mornings with this on-the-go breakfast item!
  • 1 can of sardines in olive oil, deboned or boneless
  • 1 stick of salted butter (slightly softened)
  • Juice of ½ lemon
  • 2 tablespoons minced chives
  • Freshly ground black pepper
  • ¼ tsp garlic powder
  1. Place the softened butter in a bowl.
  2. Drain the sardines. De-bone and roughly chop them then add them to the butter.
  3. Combine the butter and sardines by mashing with a fork.
  4. Add chives and lemon juice, and pepper, and keep mashing to combine.
  5. Transfer the butter into a serving container.
  6. Refrigerate until solid and serve.
