Makes 4 servings
Light Brown Gravy:
2 Tbsps Butter
2 Tbsps Flour
2 cups Chicken stock
1 tsp Soy sauce
Salt and ground black pepper, to taste
1/2 cup Cottage cheese, strained (or chopped mozzarella cheese)
Store-bought frozen French fries
- In a small saucepan, melt butter over low heat. Mix in flour and stir until well-blended. Cook for 2 minutes or until roux becomes golden in color.
- Pour in chicken stock and mix with a wire whisk to smoothen out the sauce. Season with soy sauce to give it color, then some salt and black pepper. Simmer over low heat until sauce thickens, about 4-5 minutes.
- Meanwhile, fry French fries in oil. Arrange fries in a platter and pour gravy on top. Sprinkle with some bits of cottage cheese or mozzarella bits. Serve immediately.
