Fresh Catch of the Day: Steamed Lobster with Vanilla Butter Sauce

This native king crustacean is here to take on the spotlight   


Steamed Lobster with Vanilla Butter Sauce

Makes 2-4 servings


1 cup Butter

½ Vanilla bean, scraped

⅛ tsp Vanilla extract

  1. Put the butter in a saucepan and let melt over low heat. Once the butter has melted, take away the scum on top and bottom and use only the “drawn” butter as sauce.
  2. Mix vanilla seeds and vanilla extract into the butter.

2 Live lobsters, cut in half

*Salt and pepper, to season

  1. Steam the lobsters for about 8-10 minutes or until bright red orange in color. Let cool and cut in half. Set aside.
