An All-American Feast For The Family: Hawaiian Baked Pork Spareribs


A finger-licking recipe for the whole family to feast on and enjoy!

Hawaiian Baked Pork Spareribs

Makes 4-6 servings

1 kilo Pork spareribs, whole

1 cup Water

1 can Clear softdrink

1 cup Pineapple juice

3-4 cloves Garlic, smashed

1 Medium onion, quartered

1 Small knob ginger

1 Star anise

2 Tbsps Soy sauce

1 tsp Rock salt

4-5 Black peppercorns

  1. In a medium saucepot, combine pork spareribs, water, clear softdrink, and pineapple juice. Add garlic, onions, ginger and star anise. Season with soy sauce, rock salt, and ground black pepper.
  2. Bring mixture to a boil, over medium heat. Cover and simmer for 1 hour over low heat until meat becomes tender , turning over once or twice, as necessary.
  3. When pork spareribs are cooked, remove with tongs and let pork spareribs air dry in a wire rack or platter while preparing the glaze.
  4. Pre-heat oven to 350°F for about 15 minutes. Let ribs sit in the glaze for a few minutes while oven is pre-heating.
  5. Lay pork spareribs on a foil-lined tray and baste top with more glaze. Bake pork spareribs for 30-40 minutes. Serve over hot java rice and some coleslaw on the side.
